Q - So, what makes the Blank Action and Adventure Thriller Series so special?
A - Lincoln Delabar, Blank, has a deformity. He was born without a face and as you would expect, he is ridiculed and shunned by most of society because of his looks. Lets face it, he’s creepy.
But, for those who know him, really know him, he’s very special. His talents are a gift, or a curse according to him, but they are his talents, and as he learns to use them he must decide if the darkness that is surfacing in him will rule his life, or will he use his strength for good. A classic conflict but with a twist.
I think you’ll find his adventures and growth both engrossing and thrilling. I’ll bet you come to love him as I do.
Q - How did you come up with the idea for Blank?
A - The idea for Blank came to me on a day when I was thinking of many other things. And I’ve found over the years that a good many of my stories start out that way; thoughts on something else as some epiphany hits me.
A friend teased me and suggested my next book have a cover that was completely blank. Of course, that’s not possible, but something clicked and then the wheels started spinning. Once that happens for me, there’s no stopping it and thus Lincoln Delabar was born, the story created around the idea for the cover.
Q - Is Lincoln the only one in his world with his abilities?
A - He is unique, but in the series, will he find others like him? You’ll have to read them to find out. Ha!

It was very easy to like and relate to young Linc. I look forward to more in this series and highly recommend Blank .

Originally I had my doubts on whether I would enjoy this. I love my murder mystery fiction novels. But, once I got started, I couldn't stop. Not only is there something new at every turn but Lincoln's character is something new and refreshing in the mystery world. I couldn't even begin to imagine the trials that his character would go through in life. The gifts he has would burden many others, but he's grown to use them and control them, and since he's had to live life using a few of his gifts, they are a part of him in every aspect. I look forward to reading the whole series!
He drew me in in the first 2 sentences. In a way, I was apprehensive about the story since it had the characters name in the subtitle. Wondered if I would be in the middle of a story and "lost in space" about previous events. Not so, this author grabbed me and took me along for the thrilling, scary, heartwarming ride. Anyone who can communicate with animals the way Linc does has MY full attention. Bought the series.
Blank, the very first book I've read by Richard C Hale, grabbed my attention and teased my curiosity from the first page. Lincoln Delabar, a child born with no face, must live in a world that sees him as a monster. He’s a special boy with budding powers. In this first installment to the trilogy, we are introduced to Lincoln, his family, and his friends. I watch him grow into his teenage self as he grows into some of his powers. It’s an emotional rollercoaster ride with many adult situations. Since it is the first, many back stories must be presented making it a long read, but well worth sticking it out through the end.
I recently joined Hale’s Street Team and needed to read both Blank and Blank Threads before getting to Blank Apocalypse, my ARC. He has a way of writing that makes the characters very real and you become invested in what happens to each of them. Though some parts are difficult to read, they make this story more realistic. I’m glad I was able to pick up Blank Threads right after so I didn’t have long to find out what happens to Linc next.

I am just a massive fan of Richard C. Hale so I recognized I might really like this publication. Linc is incredibly exclusive, they have a large center and contains to deal with the entire world being a "freak" when within he believes (and wishes to be) typical. It had been very easy to enjoy and connect with young Linc. I anticipate more in this range and highly recommend Blank .
I read on my phone alot. Its pretty convenient because Im always on the go. Ive read many books on my phone, but there haven't been many books that are similar that have kept my interest from beginning to end. Many books have what I call corny parts. You know when something going on in another direction and yor wanting the story to get back on track. The author did a phenomenal job putting everything together. From the plot, setting, characters, action ,suspense.... even the splotches of teen love life. He touched on things from high school that everyone can relate to. Never a dull moment. Easily one of my top 30 favorites. My top 30 are all number ones.
Lincoln Delabar was born without a face; quite literally, a smooth expanse on the front of his head, with only two holes where his nostrils would be, through which he breathes and takes sustenance, liquids which he cannot taste. But, as with all things, when a door closes, a window opens. Lincoln, or Blank, as his father dubbed him, has other abilities. He can sense electrical energy, enabling him to ‘see’ things around him, and he can ‘connect’ with people who touch his face, an action which enables a two-way sharing of memories.
As Linc, his favored name, reaches puberty, he develops friends and contacts beyond his mother and sister—his father having deserted the family because of his inability to cope with both Linc’s deformity and his power—including his uncle, Joey, who is hiding some dark secret, Tuck, a neighborhood boy with whom he develops a close and enduring friendship, and a girl who is able to look past his lack of a face and see the real him.
But, he has enemies, too. People who hate him for what he is, and those who fear him for his ability to ‘see’ them.
Blank by Richard C. Hale is not your usual novel. While all its main characters are teens, the theme is decidedly adult, as they struggle with a serial rapist/killer, drug dealers, and high school bullies who sometimes go way too far. It’s tempting to call it a coming-of-age novel, but it’s not that either. What it is; a darn interesting and intriguing read, handled in such a way that you find yourself believing that such a creature could actually exist.
A five-star premiere to what I predict will be a series that will acquire a cult following.
